A Manchelor’s Guide to Living Alone

Without the baggage that comes with loneliness

First, a manchelor is the colloquial term for a family man who lives all by himself. There are a host of reasons why this happens, and those reasons could go from a man preferring to live alone to life situations compelling such a man to live alone. Regardless of the circumstances that brings a man to this status, the lifestyle has its peculiarities.

Second, I have been a manchelor for 5 years and I give props to the grandchelors that have gone before me. Anything I say, especially advice that I give in the course of this article, should be framed in the context of how long I’ve been at it. I understand the role that time plays in shaping our understanding of things in general, and how what one sees and appreciates in the moment may be entirely different come another decade or two.

With definitions and disclaimers done with, here are my top 4 issues with manchelor living.
