Hate is “Belief” Spelt Backwards
A war is going on on an atheist’s wall on my Facebook. The self professed atheist is viciously attacking God (the Christian interpretation) and predictably, Christian crusaders are queued up at his doorsteps hurling text at him intent on stoning him to death. The tone of some of the more agitated crusaders is terse and evocative as Hate bleeds from the page. The posting atheist hates God — it is obvious from his pronouncements. The crusaders hate the atheist — this is obvious too in the ensuing charade.
If you asked the crusaders or the atheist what they are both trying to achieve, I believe they’d tell you that they are trying to get the other person to see their point of view. But was any person ever converted by being beaten to submission? Each camp would extol the virtues of their argument and regard their counterattack as evidence of holding a superior perspective. Yet despite their many words, they will most likely leave those holding the opposing ideology more resolute and more violent in their stance in defense of their beliefs.
No man was ever converted by being beaten to submission.
This post is not about atheism or Christianity, it is about Hate. Anyone can believe in anything and it is my opinion that no one belief should be considered superior to another. Each belief set represents a point of view, and these various points…
