Streets laid in gold, what a beautiful view!
All things are in order. There’s nothing amiss.
Throngs of angels, singing hallelujah!
Doing only that one thing — the will of God.

Twenty-four — the number of elders bowing to the throne
‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord’
No mutiny; peace reigns supreme.
No sun; all is lit by the glory of God.
No votes; One being decides

Lucifer, once rebellious has been cast among men
To lead the cause of the oppressed and be the oppressor still.

Now pray tell, o fallen angel:
Was it mutiny that caused the fall or a cry for equality?
Was it a war for democracy and a yearning to break free?
Had heaven had a senate what luck would they’ve made?
Had Lucifer had a hearing what path would history take?

If heaven’s the eternal goal of man
Then why’s democracy his ideal?
Heaven’s no democracy, my friend;
Hallelujah’s no vote.
