Home is haven from my foes;
Shelter from earth, wind, fire, and water.
Rome. paven for my toes
My rest from strife, thirst, and hunger

Home is the center I return to
about which my soul is ordered.
The aerie my wings will turn to
be renewed when so disordered.

Home is a symbol of myself:
A place of identity; my lengthened arm,
where either way I place the shelf,
says who, what, or why I am.

Home is the fire in the hearth
from which love’s gentle radiance flow.
The joy of warmth even in dearth
that makes me rich even tho’ I’m poor.

Home is the sacred natal cord
that binds my spirit to its source
and brings me to one accord,
with those with whom I share a cause

Home is a place so suited to me,
In length and breadth as space may bid;
And though it’s narrow or spans the sea,
Home to me is home indeed
