Killer Instinct
The Victory Park Murder-Suicide story is one of those stories you’d watch in a Nollywood flick and roll your eyes at the incredibly gory details and say, “Haba! but this isn’t realistic?”
A Young couple with two children between them and seven years behind them go jogging together one morning, return home, lock themselves up in a room leaving their two children in the care of a family member in the living room, and both end up dying in a murder/suicide that brings horror flicks to reality. At the murder-suicide scene the first responders found 4 knives, an energy drink, bottles of a poisonous pesticide and bloodied pliers. They found the woman on a blood-soaked mattress with her mouth taped shut while the stereo played at the loudest volume. The woman’s braids had been pulled out strand by strand and her head and eyes had multiple stab wounds. The man was lying dead on the floor beside her, his frothy mouth suggestive that he had committed suicide drinking the energy drink and pesticide concoction after having murdered his partner.
