Another day, another article on Medium where the average Medium writer buries two sentences of useful content in five thousand words formatted to please the Medium algo god, so it can be read in six minutes, so the article can get a million views and make a couple thousand bucks behind the paywall.

It is another day of dishing out unwanted life hacks and motivational speeches to a faceless world with the hope that out there somewhere, someone exhumes the two meaningful sentences. More importantly, the average Medium writer wants to write a Denningesque piece about how they put out an article everyday and how consistency is the key to success.

In this massive recycling plant for words and ideas with endless reuse potential, you are not the average writer. You are the primus inter pares, the Optimus Prime of scribes. Your ideas are unique. Your audience is niche. In your imagination there is a library of unpublished works each deserving a Pulitzer. You are not just a writer, you are the Messiah we’ve been waiting for, you are the number 42.

But you are yet to start.

In your profile, there are a couple of drafts cellaring. In your head, there are a lot more. Here are a few things the algo god sent me to tell you:

  1. All the genius in your head is worth nothing until it goes out to the world;
