In 2015, in front of over 7,000 members of the audience at the Zappos theatre in Las Vegas, and 10 million other viewers globally, Steve Harvey made the blunder of the century.

He announced Miss Columbia, Ariadna Gutiérrez as the pageant winner instead of Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach whose name was clearly printed on the ballot card.

Or was it?

This gaffe had brought the keenly contested event to an anticlimactic end, one that would gravely upset Miss Columbia whose short-lived excitement at being the most beautiful girl in the world had come crashing down with the hopes of the entire continent of South America rooting for her.

The meme army had not passed up an opportunity to leverage their infinite creative potential to create all manners of memes from this gaffe.

Despite an apologetic Steve Harvey coming out immediately to correct himself and announcing the rightful heir to the throne of Aphrodite, the world in its unforgiving manner had not spared him.

Considering that it was the Miss Universe pageant, aliens from other planets might have had a galactic day too, laughing at Steve Harvey’s universal mistake.
